Match Report - Twyford Barca - B U9's 2009/10

Our second game of the day was against Beacon Knights. Having met this opposition on a number of occasions we knew this would be an uphill battle. We fought courageously against some very strong tackles from Beacon Knights which floored both Toby Heard and Konnor Tebby. Brandon Davies skilfully weaved through the midfield and came close to scoring early in the first half.

Louis Bolduc was called into action when a clash between Konnor Tebby and an opposition defender meant Konnor had to be carried from the pitch with a suspected hamstring injury. Twyford became unsettled and despite some fantastic saves from keeper Keane Moore, Beacon Knights opened the scoring. Aaron Long's no-nonsense defending prevented further goals and kept the score line to just 2-0 at half time.

Despite a determined effort from Brandon Davies, Louis Bolduc, Liam Gillbard and Aaron Long which led to another attempt on goal, it was the opposition who chalked up the remaining goals in the second half. Twyford gave a gallant performance against a balanced and well organised Beacon Knights. The game ended a win for the visitors by 7 goals.
