Under 13s Match Report

Twyford Under 13's faced Moors Youth in the Taunton Youth League. The first half saw the two teams evenly matched with both sides having chances but not taking them. The half time whistle blew with a 0-0 scoreline. In the 2nd half, Twyford played more attacking which resulted in Alex Bressington breaking the deadlock with a fine goal. This seemed to upset Moors rythm and Twyford doubled their lead with a header from Reece Burnett. Twyford sealed the win through a superb chip from Burnett to take the win 3-0. Mikesh Mistry was solid in defence as was Yiannis Nilcolopoulas in goal. Also playing well were Tom Nunez, Jacob Snowdon, Toyga Kekilli, Kieron Chard-Maple, Jack Isaacs, Connor Daveridge, Matthew Mann and man of the match Nathan Hill.

Twyford Under 13's were knocked out of the Somerset County Tesco Cup after being beaten by Backwell Athletic 5-2. Alex Bressington netted a penalty and Toyga Kekilli slotted home Twyfords 2nd. Playing well were Jacob Snowdon, Tom Nunez, Jack Isaacs and Yiannis Nilcolopolous.

Twyford Spartans Under 13's travelled to Hamilton and despite the scores being level 1-1 at half time, Twyford couldn't find the grit and determination needed to battle up-hill in the 2nd half. Alex Bressington scored Twyford's only goal, but playing well were Connor Daveridge, Harry Justice, Tom Nunez, Liam Short, Jacob Snowdon, Yiannis Nilcolopolous and the ever dependable Nathan Hill.

Twyford Under 13's finally notched up their 1st win of the season against Westonzoyland Zebras. Nathan Hill opened the scoring through an Alex Bressington corner followed by a 2nd direct from a free kick. Bressington got the 3rd to take them 3-0 at half time. Twyford started the 2nd half where they left off and Hill got his hat-trick from the penalty spot. Jack Isaacs hit the post but Connor Daveridge was there to follow up the ball into the back of the net. Matthew Mann finished the scoring off for Twyford to take the win 6-0. Yiannis Nilcolopolous made some good saves and Tom Nunez worked his socks off as did Liam Short. Also playing well were Mikesh Mistry, Harry Justice, Jamie Luke, Toyga Kekilli and Reece Burnett.

Twyford Spartans Under 13s travelled to Sedgemoor Lions in the cup and lost a thriller 4-3. Jamie Luke scored twice and Alex Bressington once. While also playing well were Harry Justice, Toyga Kekilli, Liam Short and Tom Nunez.

Twyford Spartans Under 13's entertained Sedgemoor Lions at Bickleigh. Twyford went 2 goals down, but Nathan Hill made a good solo run to score just on half time to half the deficit. Sedgemoor scored a superb free kick just after half time to increase their lead again, but goals from Jamie Luke and Alex Bressington saw the scores level. Twyford seemed to think this was all they needed to do and switched off, only to concede 5 goals in the final 10 minutes to let Sedgemoor take the win 8-3. Tom Nunez worked his socks off in midfield and Harry Justice played well in defence. A poor, lacklustre performance on the whole for Twyford.

Twyford Under 13's travelled to Staplegrove and soon found themselves 2-0 down. Alex Bressington scored 2 to bring the game back level. Staplegrove took the lead again before a superb lob from Matthew Mann brought Twyford back 3-3. Shortly after half time Bressington netted his hat-trick to put Twyford ahead for the first time. Unfortunately some poor marking saw Staplegrove equalise and despite some spirited performances, Twyford allowed Staplegrove to score again to make the final score 5-4. Playing well for Twyford were Samuel Parkins, Yiannis Nilcolopolous in goal, Tom Nunez, Harry Justice, Toyga Kekilli and Kieron Chard-Maple.

Galmington opened the scoring in an end to end game and great goalkeeping from Yannis Nilcolopoulos kept Twyford very much in the game who trailed 2 V 1 at half time after Reece Burnett had equalised only to see Galmington score again just before the half time whistle .

Twyford battled hard in the second half with goals from Jacob Snowdon and a superbly struck freekick from Burnett but couldn't pull back the deficit. Matt Mann had an outstanding game in the Twyford defence.
