Axminster v Twyford Barca - 30th November 2008
Twyford Spartans U10's continued their good form with a 9-0 defeat of Axminster in the East Devon Youth League. Twyford raced into a 4-0 lead after 12 minutes with goals from Max Zilch, Sam Jones and a brace from Ben Morgan. The Axminster keeper then kept the Spartans at bay until an og made it 5-0 at the break. In the second half Twyford kept the pressure on with some neat passing and movement and goals from Dennis Wills, a Charlie Slater brace and a goal from Morgan for his Hat-trick gave Spartans the win. Excellent performances from Luke Broomfield, Lewis Hill, Owen Rendall, Lewis Flanagan and Adam Jarrett all contributed to a brilliant performance.
Twyford Barca v Exmouth Amateurs - Sunday 23rd November 2008
Twyford Spartans U10's entertained Exmouth
Amateurs B in an East Devon Youth league game and despite wet and windy
conditions Twyford ran out comfortable 12-0 winners. Playing good passing
football in the poor conditions Twyford were 5-0 up at half time with goals
from Lewis Hill, Owen Rendall and a hat-trick from Ben Morgan. After the break
a further goal from Rendall and braces from Max Zilch ,Sam Jones and a couple
of own goals sealed the win .Also playing well were Luke Broomfield and Dennis
Wills.
Twyford Barca v Seaton - Sunday 9th November 2008
Twyford Spartans U 10's returned to East
Devon league action after a 4 week lay off with a tough home fixture
against Seaton. Playing against a strong wind on a rain soaked pitch Twyford
went behind after 3 minutes ,however, excellent defending by Luke Broomfield
and Adam Jarrett together with exciting wing play by Max Zilch and Lewis
Hill allowed Twyford to get on top and by half time they were in the
lead with a brace from Sam Jones and a goal by Ben Morgan. After the restart
Seaton pulled a goal back only for Dennis Wills to notch his first of 2
sandwiched between a further Seaton goal. Ben Morgan scored his second
near the end to make it 6-3 to Twyford. In difficult conditions Owen
Rendall ,Charlie Slater and Lewis Flanagan also played well.
Twyford Barca v Feniton - Sunday 12th October 2008
Twyford
Spartans U10's played Feniton in the East Devon Youth League and ran out worthy
5-3 winners in an exciting game. Wearing their new kit sponsored by Unite's
Transport & General Truckdrivers Twyford Barca v Colyton - Sunday 5th October 2008 Twyford U10's hosted last years champions Colyton in the East Devon Youth League and slumped to a 5-2 defeat. Twyford were 2-0 down at the break and soon went 3-0 down after the restart. Max Zilch headed a goal back for Twyford only for Colyton to reply to make it 4-1. Sam Jones then scored for Twyford to make it 4-2,however Colyton added a 5th to round off a disappointing day for Twyford. Also playing well were Luke Broomfield and Owen Rendall. Seaton v Twyford Barca - Sunday 28th September 2008 Twyford
U10's continued their impressive start in the East Devon Youth league with a
well earned 4-1 win at Seaton. Playing up the slope in the first half the
Twyford wingers Lewis Hill and Max Zilch caused havoc with their pace and
trickery whilst midfield general Sam Jones orchestrated manouevres. Forward
Dennis Wills went close to scoring before Jones and Hill hit the back of the net
to give Twyford a 2-0 half time lead. Although the Seaton forwards
had the advantage of the slope, they were restricted to the odd attack by
excellent defending from Owen Rendall and Luke Broomfield. In the second half
Ben Morgan scored to make it 3 before Seaton pulled a goal back only for Max
Zilch to make it 4-1.Also playing well were Adam Jarrett and Charlie Slater.
Twyford Barca v Phoenix FC - Sunday 21st September 2008 Twyford U10's started their East Devon league campaign with an excellent performance running out worthy winners over Phoenix FC with a 5-0 win. Sam Jones started the scoring connecting with a stinging corner from man of the match Lewis Hill who then scored a brace himself, the second a powerful drive from 25 yards into the roof of the net.
Despite the commanding 3-0 first half performance, Phoenix came back into it in the second half, however,defenders Luke Broomfield and Charlie Taylor ,and keeper Adam Jarrett comfortably kept them at bay. In the last 10 minutes a long clearance from Jarrett found Ben Morgan who outstripped the defence to score Spartans 4th. This was quickly followed by a strong run from Owen Rendle whose shot was parried by the Phoenix keeper into the path of Max Zilch who scored to make it 5.Also playing well was Dennis Wills. |
